Revive Superfoods Review

So, I am not thrilled to admit this to you guys, but I have gained 30 lbs in roughly two years. I feel gross, my clothes don't fit the way that they should and I have been covering myself up with baggy dresses. I blame my medication, my poor eating habits and a slowing metabolism.

In December, I decided that I needed to do something about my weight. I needed to get healthy. Get stronger. Not that long ago, I used to be obsessed with yoga. But I totally stopped. Doing yoga with the extra weight was just too much, and I actually broke my toes last year while trying to do a difficult pose and not distributing my weight correctly.

So, I came up with a plan. I was going to keep things simple so that I wouldn't feel overwhelmed and I would be more likely to keep up my new routine. Here are the basics of my new routine:

  • Restrict my daily calorie intake
  • Practice yoga daily
  • Spend AT LEAST 15 minutes walking/jogging on the treadmill daily
I have a FitBit so I have been logging my food everyday and it has been really eye opening. I realized that I needed to eat a little cleaner, which is fine by me. I love all fruits and vegetables and wouldn't mind consuming more of them everyday. But I'm going to be real here...I hate meal planning and grocery shopping stresses me out. I just want an easy way to eat healthier and lighter. I needed the lazy girl's diet plan.

I started to eat a lot of soup. It's low calorie, yummy and fills me up. So I had lunches sorted. For dinner, I was going to eat some kind of meat with vegetables or just vegetables by themselves. I'm trying to stay away from carbs. But what about breakfast? I can't skip the most important meal of the day. Plus, I don't usually eat lunch until 1:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. There is no way I can go that long without eating all morning until lunch. I'm not usually a big breakfast person anyway, plus I am super busy in the morning getting the kids ready for school and me ready for work. Grabbing granola bars gets old fast and there just isn't enough time to cook a meal. So I had a problem.

Lucky for me I found the perfect solution while scrolling Instagram one day. It was perfect timing. There was an ad for a smoothie company called Revive Superfoods that showcased their current promotion. They were offering 60% off your first box. Pretty great right? So I clicked through to their website and checked out what they had to offer.

Before I tell you what I selected to try, let me tell you a little about Revive Superfoods. In a nutshell, they are a smoothie service that also offers oats and acai bowls. According to their website, Revive Superfoods was started with one goal- to "take the hard work out of leading a healthy, balanced, and nutritious lifestyle." They deliver healthy smoothies that come frozen and ready to blend. Each smoothie is pre-portioned, and has been curated by a team of nutritionists and food scientists. Every product is plant-based, gluten-free and preservative free. And there is no sugar added!

Here is how the subscription works. You choose your plan by deciding if you want 9, 12 or 24 cups each week. Then you build your box by selecting the smoothies you want. Last, you check out and wait for your delivery. When you get your box you simply stash the cups in your freezer and enjoy whenever you want!

You always have the option to skip future shipments as long as it is before your scheduled billing date. You can also pause your subscription or cancel at any time.

In addition to smoothies, Revive Superfoods also offers hearty oat bowls and refreshing acai bowls. You can pick all smoothies or add some oats or acai bowls to your box.

My experience signing up was great and the process was super easy. I decided to start with the 12 cup plan and selected all smoothies. I think I chose one in each flavor they offer. I wanted to try it all! What kind of flavors are there? Well to name a few there is Morning Mocha, Hint of Mint and Coconut Cream. After I picked my smoothies, I was given a delivery date which was roughly one week after my purchase. That seems like a long wait time but I wasn't too bothered by it. I paid a whopping $26 after my 60% discount was applied. My next shipment of 12 cups will be $65.88 and I will be charged weekly. I think $65.88 is reasonable considering the time I am saving by not having to plan, shop and prep. So it's worth it to me.

Review

On my anticipated delivery day, my cups arrived in a large box. They were packed in dry ice to keep them cold. The packaging was minimal and easy to discard of after unpacking. To my delight, my shipment came with a metal straw and straw cleaner. I unpacked my 12 cups and inspected them. Each cup is covered with a plastic seal and topped off with a lid that has a hole for a straw. I love this feature because it makes the smoothie super portable.

Making the smoothie is easy. You just pop the lid off and open the seal. Then you fill the cup up with your desired liquid, I use coconut milk. Then you toss the contents of the cup into your blender, blend and pour back into the cup. Pop the lid back on, insert the straw and enjoy. Super simple.

After trying out these smoothies for a week I am OBSESSED! Each flavor that I have tried has been so delicious and low in calories. Plus they keep me full until lunch. I have been blending one up for breakfast every morning. Like I mentioned before, I use coconut milk, but you can use any milk you want. Oat, almond, whole, whatever you want. It's all good.

This is for sure a service that I am going to continue to use. I think for my next shipment I might do 24 cups so that I can have one for breakfast and one for lunch too. If you are looking for a healthy, quick option for whatever reason, I highly recommend Revive Superfoods!
