Time To Talk Day 2020
Time To Talk Day 2020 is on Thursday February 6, 2020. It is an initiative run by Time To Change, which is a U.K. based social movement that is working to call out stigma and discrimination by helping others to talk openly about mental health.
For 2020 the theme of Time To Talk Day is "Would You Rather." Using the same ice breaking techniques as the popular game, Time To Talk Day is an opportunity for us to show that talking about mental health doesn't have to be awkward. The initiative also stresses that your story may make a big difference to someone who is struggling.
So how can you participate?
- On social media you can like and share Time To Change's posts on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram.
- You can share why you are choosing to talk about mental health by using #TimeToTalk on your own social media posts.
- Follow the hashtag #TimeToTalk on Twitter and Instagram to get involved in the conversation.
Time To Talk Day has some really great ideas on their website for what you could say or share in your posts or with someone you know in conversation. There, you will also find shareable graphics to download, including a super fun conversation starter game. They also give great advice on how else you can get involved, ways that you can support someone else, read personal stories and find resources if you need support.
So let's get out there and join the conversation by talking about mental health not only today, but everyday. Speaking about our struggles is brave and empowering, helps others immensely and helps to bust the stigma.
