Cannabidoil (CBD) is one of over 100 chemical compounds known as cannabinoids. It can be found in the marijuana plant. THC is the psychoactive chemical that is responsible for getting you high when you intake marijuana. CBD is not psychoactive, and it will 100% not get you high. CBD has become super popular in the wellness world lately, and with good reason. Users claim that it can relive a multitude of problems. In fact, there have been numerous scientific studies conducted that confirm CBD's effectiveness. So what can you address with CBD? The list is sort of endless, but I will outline some highlights below.
- relieves pain
- reduces symptoms associated with depression and anxiety
- can reduce acne
- reduces blood pressure and promotes heart health
- can be used to treat addiction
- promotes relaxation
More research on all of the above uses still needs to be done, but CBD has been hailed as very safe and is readily available in many forms.
The beauty industry has really latched onto the CBD craze, and has pumped out a large amount of CBD infused products. From oils, to creams, to bath salts, finding a vehicle to use CBD that fits your lifestyle should be a cinch. Now, I am going to introduce you to a new line of CBD beauty products that American Eagle Outfitters has just rolled out called MOOD: Chill Mind & Body.
American Eagle Outfitters describes their latest beauty line as "a new CBD-infused wellness collection for your bath, body and home". The line is broken up into different groups or "moods". Each group has its own punchy color of packaging, and contains six to nine products. The amount of CBD varies from product to product, but can be found in every item except for one that I will mention later. Let's talk briefly about each group. I'll also share my favorite product within each group.
Obviously the nine products in this group are designed to help you relax and works to promote restful sleep. The lavender scented collection is housed in matching light lavender packaging. In this group I did notice that the Pillow Mist does not contain any CBD. But, that makes sense since a pillow cannot benefit from being sprayed with CBD. My favorite from the Zzz group is the Bath Soak. I bet this soak makes one dreamy bath, and invites sleep with its lavender fragrance and 100mg of CBD. And, you can really be heavy-handed when you sprinkle it into the water since you get a huge 8oz bag for $19.95.
The six products in this group were made to get you moving with a boost of energy. The bright orange packaging is super perky, and feels very upbeat. My favorite in this bunch is the Lip Balm. I am always on the hunt for products that promise more energy, and I have a serious addiction to lip balm. So this mandarin nectar scented lippy sounds like perfection in a tube to me. The balm contains 25mg of CBD, and costs a mere $7.95.
The six products in this group swear that they will increase your focus. The bright yellow packaging is so uplifting, and I bet that the citrus scent really helps you to stay focused. I love the Aromatherapy Oil because it is very portable and can be used anytime you need to refocus. It contains 100mg of CBD and costs $15.95.
The dark green color of the packaging in this group is just so gorgeous. I feel soothed just looking at it! The eight product group is scented with fresh eucalyptus, and will seriously up your self-care game by soothing away whatever is wrong with you. My soothing pick is the Sugar Scrub. I cannot think of a better way to self-soothe than to scrub all of my worries away with a luscious sugar scrub. This 100mg CBD-infused scrub comes in a big 10oz tub for $15.95.
There are eight products in the Refreshed group and each is scented with cool coconut, and packaged in crisp blue containers. This group will cure any stress and burn out, leaving you feeling refreshed. In addition to the body care products that are featured in the other mood groups, the Refreshed group offers two skin care products as well. I am really interested in the CBD-Infused Face Oil. Infused with 100mg of CBD, this oil can be massaged into the facial skin to moisturize and wake up parched, tired skin. I was a little bummed that the ingredient list isn't available on the American Eagle Outfitters website. I like to know what is in my skin care before purchasing, and I'm sure a lot of other people do too. I'll update this post if I ever end up finding the list. The 0.5 oz bottle will cost you $19.95.
Last group up is the chillest of them all. The six products in the Chill group promise to "take relaxation to the next level" with its warm vanilla scent. The Body Cream is looking pretty good to me. I love a good vanilla scented body product, and this one is even more special because it is infused with a whopping 150 mg of CBD. A deep blue, 8 oz tube of this deliciousness costs $19.95.
A GENTLE REMINDER
Please remember that I am not a doctor, and generally I have no idea what I am talking about. I gained my CBD knowledge through Internet research, which as we all know can be pretty shifty. Take this post and the advice given in it with a grain of salt. Please conduct your own research, and reach out to your doctor with concerns and/or questions.
