What I'm Reading- April 2020
For the month of April, I have four books that I am planning on reading. One of which, to be fair, I finished in the last week of March. But since I didn't own it when I posted my March picks, I'm sharing it this month.
"The Runes Book" by Horik Svensson
I don't know anything about runes but have been very drawn to them lately. A few weeks ago I ordered a set of amethyst runes from a seller on Ebay. They are coming from India so shipping is taking a long time. So I figured I would get this book to educate myself before my runes arrive. I purchased this book on Thriftbooks.com and I think that it may have originally been a part of a set that come with ceramic runes. However, I just received the book. The book contains a very detailed history of the runes, interpretation of the runes, and instructions on how to use and read the runes. It's a fairly short guidebook and has been really interesting so far. I'll do a post about runes when mine finally come in.
"Yoga For Witches" by Sarah Robinson
It's no secret that I love yoga and I love witchcraft. So putting them together in a book is perfection for me. First of all, the cover art is stunning. The book connects the two spiritual disciplines to help you "find magic on the mat." Written by a United Kingdom based yoga and meditation teacher, the book "shares exercises, poses and the knowledge you need to connect to your own special magic and inner power."
"The Gifts of Imperfection" by Brene Brown, Ph.D., L.M.S.W.
I have heard so many wonderful things about Brene Brown but have never consumed any of her content. I even subscribed to her new podcast but haven't had a chance to listen to it yet. Brene Brown is a research professor and thought leader on vulnerability, courage, worthiness and shame. In this book she shares ten guideposts on the power of Wholehearted living, which is a way to engage the world from a place of worthiness. I am really excited to dig into this one.
"Untamed" by Glennon Doyle
This is the book that I finished in March. It was so good that I finished it in under a week. First, just look at that cover-it makes me so happy. This is a book about being brave, setting boundaries, making peace with our bodies, honoring our anger and heartbreak and unleashing our truest and wildest instincts so that we can find ourselves again. "Untamed" is a gorgeous book, an inspiring boo and one that I highly recommend. I will be sure to hunt down her other books now.
So, what are you reading this month?
